Excel 2000
InternetBy default, Microsoft Internet Explorer will open Microsoft Excel pages within the browser window. Some users may wish to open the file and instead save the file to the hard drive and later open it with Excel.
Solution:
Microsoft Windows 98 / Windows ME
Open My Computer, Click on the drop down menu View and click on the option Folder Options; click on the tab File Types and in the Registered file types box choose the icon that says Microsoft Excel Worksheet. Check the box in the new window that says "Confirm open after download", Uncheck "Browse in same window", Click Ok.
Microsoft Windows 2000 / Windows XP
Open Control Panel, Click on Tools, Open Folder Options, Click File Types, Locate "XLS Microsoft Excel Worksheet", and click the Advanced button. Check the box that says "Confirm open after download", Uncheck "Browse in same window", Click Ok.
